It’s so easy to bypass simply listening and focusing full attention on our body. It’s amazing that after sitting and checking-in for a few seconds you can begin to feel muscles relax into place.
Allowing the body time to process how it’s feeling helps reset the nervous system. Plus, this is something that can be done anywhere and at anytime.
Making this a comfortable practice is as easy as finding your favorite mat, cushion or folding up a blanket so that it fits under your sit bones. If you find this exercise to be difficult because of pain or distress begin by focusing on your breathing.
Always do what feels comfortable. There’s no pressure to do this for any specific period of time (5-10 minutes is a great start). Allow feelings and sensations as they are and you will notice that any intensity begins to dissipate.
